🧺 What You'll Need

🎨 Yarn:

  • 3.5 mm crochet hook (or size that matches your yarn)

  • Yarn needle

  • Stitch marker

  • Polyester stuffing

  • Safety eyes (8-10mm) or black yarn for eyes

  • Scissors

  • Optional: Twine or ribbon to “hang” the hammock

Stuff firmly and set aside.

🔸 FACE PATCH (Light tan yarn)

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring
Rnd 2: (sc, inc) around (9)
Fasten off, leave tail to sew.

🧵 Embroider or sew onto front of head. Add:

  • Eye patches (optional: two small brown ovals)

You can also pose the legs as if they’re “dangling” out of the hammock. Super chill.

🧵 Part 2: Crochet the Hammock

Here’s the fun part — this “leafy” or “net-style” hammock is easy and looks adorable. Feel free to adjust the size to fit your sloth or your space.

🌿 BASIC HAMMOCK (Rectangle style)

With green or your chosen yarn:

Ch 26 (or wider depending on your sloth size)
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (25)
Row 2–8: ch 1, turn, sc across (25)

🧶 Want a net-look? Try using dc instead of sc and chaining 1 between stitches.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

🪢 Add Hanging Loops

Ch 10 and sl st to each corner of the hammock to create loops — these are for “hanging” your hammock between two points (like bookshelf edges, sticks, or hooks on a wall). You can also use ribbon or jute twine for a rustic touch.
